Only incorporated organizations can become members of the Saskatchewan Seniors Mechanism.
Every application for membership is subject to the approval of the Board of Directors of the Mechanism.
Any member organization may withdraw from membership in the Mechanism by providing written notice to the Board of Directors of SSM.
Full Member:
Our bylaws define a full member organization as: “An association of seniors which is non-discriminatory in relation to race, religion, sex, physical or mental abilities and which has been incorporated for at least two (2) years for the purpose of supporting and advancing the common interests of seniors.”
Member organizations must be either Provincial or City-wide in terms of: membership, goals and objectives, and providing a network of programs or services.
Any organization that meets the definition of a member organization, and which has not been represented by any other existing member organization of SSM, may apply for membership in the Mechanism.
Associate Member:
Our bylaws define an associate membership as: “Open to any group or organization whose membership is composed primarily of persons who support and advance the interests of seniors. An associate member has neither a position on the Board of Directors nor a vote in the operations of the Mechanism.”
